Susan DeHaven Moyes passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the age of 75. Born in Wilmington, DE on February 9, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Mary Gotwals Moyes and Harold A. Moyes. She attended Mount Pleasant High School until she moved to Paris, France with her parents for approximately 2.5 years where she attended Marymount International High School. Susan always treasured her years in France and the French way of life. Upon return to the U.S.A., she again returned to Mount Pleasant High School where she graduated. Susan then earned a bachelor degree from the University of Delaware followed by a career working for the DuPont Co. in various business-related assignments until she decided to retire at age 50.
In retirement, Susan was an avid golfer and enjoyed her friends, caring for her home, her flower garden, and her dogs over the years.
She is survived by her brother, David Moyes; sister-in-law, Peggy Turner Moyes; their three children and fourteen grandchildren. Although Susan never married, she loved her nieces and nephews and their children.
A memorial service will be planned for later in the Spring because of COVID and the weather. Susan has requested cremation with her ashes spread at Schoodic Point, Down East, Maine, a place she loved and always talked about. Susan and her family were very grateful for the compassionate care from her loyal friend, April Starkey.
