Cynthia Lorraine Blauvelt, aged 62, of Wilmington, DE joined the Lord on Friday, January 14, 2022.

Cindy was born and spent most of her life living in Wilmington, Delaware. She attended Ursuline Academy from kindergarten to 12th grade, where she graduated with high honors. Cindy then attended the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C for college earning her bachelor’s degree in Drama. During her college years, Cindy was actively involved in the theater community and had a starring role as Agnes in the play titled, “The School For Wives,” where she was described as “newly discovered talent” and earned numerous accolades in critic reviews.

Cynthia was married to her loving husband for 35 years with whom she shared 3 children. Cindy was an excellent caretaker throughout her life, always succeeding in ensuring her family was well taken care of and loved. Cindy had a warm heart, opening her arms and her door to anyone in need. She possessed the gift of unconditional love, which she bestowed upon every one fortunate enough to know her. A true woman of God, Cindy was always strong in her faith.

Cindy will be fondly remembered by all that knew her as an avid animal lover. Creatures of all kinds were drawn to Cindy’s gentle nature. Spending her spare time volunteering at Faithful Friends and rescuing countless stray animals she found throughout her life, Cindy was a pure and selfless provider to all.

Cindy is preceded in death by her father, Stanley Krupa, and her mother, Blanche Krupa. She is survived by her husband Jeffrey; children Jessica, Abrielle, and Justin; as well as her sister, Margaret Cirillo.

Cynthia Blauvelt was an extraordinary mother, loving wife, and incredible friend to every one she came across. Her passing is a profound loss and leaves a deep sadness, but her contributions throughout life and the unconditional love and support she provided to her family and friends will forever be remembered and cherished.

A viewing for Cynthia will be held on Friday, January 28 at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home (3710 Kirkwood Highway) from 6:00pm-7:00pm. There will be a service at 7:00pm. The family asks that any donations in Cynthia’s name be made to the Delaware Humane Society or to Faithful Friends, in honor of Cindy’s love and passion for animals.
