Hadley, Sherry Morgan

Sherry Morgan Hadley, Pike Creek Valley, Newark, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022, after a long battle with cancer.

Sherry was born and raised in the Wilmington area. She attended John Dickinson High School and was an active member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.

She was very talented with crewel work and embroidery. She found great joy in spending time with her grandson, niece, and her great nephew and niece. Christmas was her favorite time of year as she loved giving gifts to loved ones and others, shopping all year to find the perfect gift or using her talents to make something for a special person.

She was a homemaker and worked for 24 years with Alpine and Rafetto Orthodontics as a patient coordinator where she was also known for baking dozens of Christmas cookies for the office each year, including the highly anticipated spritz cookies made especially for her grandson from her grandmother’s recipe.

Sherry was preceded in death by her son Thomas Hadley, Jr., (Denise Ingram) and is survived by her daughter Michelle Baker (Fred), her grandson Shane Hadley (Ann), her brother Rodney Morgan (Diane), and many loving cousins and friends. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

A viewing from 10 - 11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., will be held on Wednesday, February 2, at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, 19808. Masks are required to attend the service. Interment will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 1700 Limestone Rd. Wilmington, De. 19804.
