Kubacki, Kenneth J.

The family of Kenneth J. Kubacki, age 76, announces his peaceful passing on December 9, 2021 at Seasons Hospice.

Our father was, at heart, a family man – but his heart was so big that our family included his friends, business partners, employees, clients, and countless others. If we learned one thing from our dad, it was to always be generous and giving. Certainly, as his children, we experienced his altruism more than anyone else – but if you worked for our dad or was one of his clients – you were also the recipient of his abundant kindness. He couldn’t carry a tune and was not particularly fond of long concerts, but he attended more classical music concerts in his lifetime than most diehard enthusiasts. His overwhelming support of the arts was the result of his 55-year love affair with his wife, Mary Louise. Ken served on the board and provided generous support to dozens of arts, education, and charitable organizations.

Ken was a Certified Public Accountant and held positions with Ernst & Ernst, Shenango Steel, and DG Sisterson & Co. before founding Delaware Holding Services Inc. (DEHOLD) in 1989, which he owned and operated for 25 years! He was an active member of the Wilmington West Rotary Club and gave generously as a Paul Harris Fellow.

Kenneth Joseph Kubacki was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 13, 1945. He married Mary Louise Mihalek in 1967. They welcomed Kristen Anne and David John, before moving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1976. Julie Elizabeth, a Steelers fan to this day, completed the family in 1978.

Ken was preceded in death by his Mother, Irene Strong, and his Father, John Kubacki. His loving family will carry on his legacy including his wife, Mary Louise; brother, John (Tatiana); sister, Karen McCormick (Donald); children Kristen Krauss (David); David (Grace Kwon); and Julie. Five nieces and nephews (Bradley, Heather, Nicholas, Victoria, & Steven); and five grandchildren (Noah, Eli, Margot, Ava, & Olivia).

Private services will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to the Wilmington West Rotary Foundation (1104 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809), Delaware Symphony Orchestra (https://www.delawaresymphony.org/support/ ), or a charity of your choice.
