O. Joan Gery passed away on November 5, 2021 at Seasons Hospice, Wilmington.
Joan, the youngest of nine, was born in Dallas, PA to the late John and Ruth Kunkle. She was a homemaker and a member of Cedars United Methodist Church. Joan had been a Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts and enjoyed bowling.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Allen C. Gery and her grandson, Ryan Callahan. Joan is survived by her daughter, Connie Callahan (Mike) Craig A. Gery (Anita), her grandchildren, Justin Callahan (Sarah) and Corey Callahan (Katie), her great-grandchildren, Tessa and Carter Callahan and numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808 where a service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.
