Claymont-Loretta R. Lech, age 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 24, 2021.
She was born and raised in Chester, PA and was the daughter of the late Edward and Frances Luszczewski. Loretta worked at Scott Paper for 10 years after high school. She then went to work for the Brandywine School District where she retired from in the early 2000’s. Her passion was the Candlelight Dinner Theatre where she worked at for 45 years.
Loretta loved working outside in the yard & garden. Home improvements were one of her favorites. She loved celebrating Holidays with her family at her house. All that knew her, knew her love & passion for the theatre. Her most prized possessions were her children & grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her siblings, Leonard Luszczewski and Valerie Weber and her son, Albert Lech. She is survived by her 3 children, Roy C. Pilkington, of Colora, MD, Donna J. Pennypacker (Nelson) of Lewes, DE and Michael J. Lech of Elkton, MD; a sister, Ellie Keithly of FL; 4 granddaughters, Stephanie Crowe Lewandowski (Robert), Jennifer Crowe Clark (Harry), Jessica Crowe (Brian) and Kelsie Lech and 3 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday October 31 at 2pm at McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE, where friends may visit the family after 1pm. Burial will be private.
