Wilmington- Mary Lou Fletcher, age 86, passed away on October 20, 2021 at her home and was surrounded by her family.
She was born and raised in Wilmington, DE and was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Sturgis. Mary Lou graduated from Wilmington HS in 1952. After starting a family, she started working at Kennard’s Dept. Store, Prices Corner. When they closed, she worked at Sears, Prices Corner, in the Jewelry Dept. retiring in 2002, after more than 15 years. Mary Lou enjoyed the slots at AC and Delaware Park but more importantly her summers at Pot Nets with her grandchildren.
Her husband of 43 years, Howard L. died in 1996. Mary Lou is survived by 2 sons, Robert B. (Michelle) and Greg A. (Sandy); 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Kowalski (Steve), Jeff (Shannon), Bobby and Rob Naylor (Melissa) and 6 great grandchildren, Samantha, Lindsay, Hannah, Taylor, Hadleigh and Stephen.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 2 from 10-11 am at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, where a funeral will follow at 11 am. Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery. For online condolences visit: www.mccreryandharra.com
