Blanche “Joyce” Mousley of Chadds Ford, PA, passed away peacefully at age 90, surrounded by her family on Monday, October 18, 2021.
Born in Goochland, Virginia, she lived in several states before settling in Boothwyn, PA, where she met her loving husband, Donald Mousley. Joyce and Donald married on June 4, 1949 and were married for 62 years.
Her life was spent graciously caring for her family. To help support her family, she held a variety of jobs, including working at Lynthwaite Farms, the Hy-Point store, and taking care of children and older adults. Her focus in working was to always ensure her children’s success. Joyce enjoyed traveling; cruises were a favorite as was a trip to London. She and her husband frequently visited their cottage in Virginia where they spent time visiting family. In her later years, her favorite hobby was seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Donald L. Mousley and her daughter, Jo Ann Mousley Murdoch. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Meany (James) of Wilmington, Delaware and her son Douglas Mousley (Monica) of Glen Allen, Virginia; grandchildren, Jacqueline Ersek; Kimberly Abeel (Tim); Joseph “Joey” Ersek (Emily); Jeffrey Meany (Lauren); James Mousley; and Tyler Mousley. She also leaves great-grandchildren, Stephanie Gammarino, Kaitlyn Abeel, Elizabeth Ersek, and Lilia Meany.
Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Siloam United Methodist Church, 3720 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA 19060.
