William Rue Davison passed away on October 14, 2021 at Seasons Hospice surrounded by his family.
He was born in Wilmington, DE to the late John and Ann Higley Davison. William could strike up a conversation with anyone and would always share a story or piece of wisdom with those around him. He especially cherished trips to the family farm in New Jersey and time with his grandchildren. William retired as a Quality Control Engineer at Chrysler after 46 years. He was a member of Army - 77th Combat division, stationed in the Philippines and a WW II veteran. William was a member of the woodworker’s guild, a master gardener, coin collector, and a lover of history and travel.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rose Graham Davison, his daughters, Karen Davison (Alan Haring) and Diana Strazzella; Victor Strazzella, and his grandchildren, Zachary and Julia Strazzella, his sister Mary Jane Hamill of Ohio, cousin Kathryn Gater of New Jersey and many nieces and nephews.
A service will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808 where friends may call from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
