Robert G. Erdody (“Bob”) passed away quietly at the Christiana Care Hospital Sunday Sept 19, 2021 after a lengthy battle with Covid-19 at the age of 93.
Bob was born in Bellerose NY in 1928. He graduated from Mepham HS in Bellmore NY where he met the love of his life, his future wife Millicent (Millie”) who preceded him in death in 2014 after 63 wonderful years. He attended Princeton University on full honor and athletic (football) scholarships and graduated with an honors degree In Mechanical Engineering. DuPont Corporation offered him an immediate position with whom he spent his entire career until his retirement in 1990.
He leaves behind his two children: Kathy Erdody-Stumpf (Dan d. 2020) and Stacy Sullivan (Dennis), grandchildren Jason (Meghan), Jeremy, and step grandchildren Tim (Meghan) and Jessica and 5 great grandchildren.
He and Millie were founding members of the Limestone Presbyterian Church, avid travelers and loved spending time at their Stone Harbor (NJ) summer cottage. Bob was known for his great sense of humor, his willingness to help anyone at Cokesbury Village where he had retired. He ran their White Elephant Sale for several years where he was loved and will be missed by all.
Visitation will take place at Limestone Presbyterian Church 3201 Limestone Rd Wilmington DE on Wednesday Sept 29 from 10-11am followed by Memorial service at 11am.
