Wilmington- Marcella E. Trafas, age 93, went home to the Lord on September 4, 2021. She was born in Freeport, PA and was the daughter of the late William and Stella Sulenski. Marcella was raised in Youngstown, OH. She studied music as well as education at Youngstown College where she received her degree. Marcella cherished her time at the many elementary schools where she taught in OH, PA and DE, and teaching was truly her life’s work. She was a keen observer of human nature, and while famous for her sarcastic wit, she was ever the soul of compassion and love for those dear to her. The manner in which she lived her life made Marcella a true role model for those who knew her.
Her husband of 61 years, and the love of her life, Claude J. Trafas, died in 2015. Marcella is survived by their daughter, Cindy Schneeman. She leaves behind many loving family members and friends. Marcella is also preceded in death by her dear son-in-law Richard, and her five siblings.
