Mary E. Knight passed away on July 3, 2021 at the age of 80 years old.
Mary grew up in Wilmington, DE and attended nursing school at the Wilmington General Hospital. Her career as a Registered Nurse specialized in Oncology. She became the first nurse certified by Oncology Nursing Society in the State of Delaware. After her retirement she volunteered her time at the Veterans Hospital.
Mary loved to cook, travel, bird watch, knit, go for walks, and attend University of Delaware football games.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Bruce, her daughter Stacie, her son Alan and his wife Jen, and their children Wyatt, Brooke, Jessica; her sister Jessie and brother Harry.
A memorial service will be held on Monday July 12, at 11am and friends are welcome to visit with the family at 10:30am at the McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington 19808.Burial will be private.
