Roy Stanley Harmon, Jr., age 94, of Wilmington, died Monday, July 5, 2021. Roy served in the navy for six-and-a-half years, active duty, and was in the reserves for 24 years. He learned the trade of bricklaying from his father, Roy, Sr., and volunteered at the Wilmington Shipyard on the Kalmar Nyckel. Roy and had many collections and interests such as gardening and playing cards.
In addition to his parents, Roy and Sophie, Roy was predeceased by his sister, Elaine Harmon three years ago. He is survived by his friend Nancy Clark.
A visitation will be offered on Monday, July 12 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE. After the visitation, a graveside service will be conducted at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE 19720 at 12:30 p.m.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Vitas Hospice for the care provided to Roy.
