Ardentown- Hal E. Goodwin, Jr., age 83, passed away on June 22, 2021.
He was born and raised in Wilmington, DE and was the son of the late Alice M. (Gabriel) and Hal E. Goodwin, Sr. Hal graduated from P. S. Dupont HS and attended Valley Forge Military Academy and Gettysburg College.He was an entrepreneur, owning a welding and boiler repair shop, a landscaping company and The Buggy Tavern.
His wife of 20 years, Norma Iris Goodwin passed away in 2004. Hal is survived by his 3 sons, Hal E. Goodwin, III, Jeffrey A. Goodwin and Darren S. Goodwin; 4 grandchildren, Stephanie Payton (Michael), Christen Vinditti (Steve), Brandon Goodwin and Elizabeth Goodwin; 5 great grandchildren, Mikayla Vinditti, Brandon Vinditti, Trevor Payton, Jaden Payton and Amber Payton; 2 siblings, Suzanne Cavanaugh and Beverley G. Fleming and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 1, at 11 am at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE (Talleyville), where a visitation will begin at 10 am. Burial will follow at Lombardy Cemetery.
