Kathryn (Kathy) Ann Kahn (nee Boylan) passed away suddenly on June 15, 2021, at the age of 69.
Born in Lewes on February 17, 1952 to Edward and Jessie Boylan, Kathy was a 1970 graduate of Wilmington High School and worked for many years at Wilmington Trust. Kathy loved dancing to Motown, hosting gatherings at her house, and vacationing at the beach; but most of all Kathy loved her family. Kathy was the backbone of a large, loud, and loving family that is still laughing with her (and sometimes at her) to this day.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Leonard E. Kahn; her mother-in-law, Josephine C. Kahn; her children, Jennifer Scherer (Mark), Stephanie Snook (Mark), and Leonard Kahn Jr. (Katy); her sisters Vanessa (John) and Peggy (Don); her grandchildren Kayla (Donnie), Melissa (Dylan), Jeremy (Melody), Nicholas, Kyle, Jacob, Chloe, and Cole; as well as her great grandchildren Donnie, Graham, and soon-to-be-born Zoey; and loyal companion and protector Gizzie. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Jessie; her step-mother Ruth; her sisters Nancy, Frani, and Ruthie; brother Steve: father-in-law John Kahn; and her son-in-law Mark.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. followed by a celebration service at 11am at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation, (www.parkinson.org).
