Wilmington- Sharon A. Martin, age 72, passed away at home peacefully with her loved ones by her side on June 2, 2021. She was born and raised in Wilmington and was the daughter of the late Anna (Helbing) and Jim Rowan. Sharon graduated from Conrad HS in 1967. She cherished her lifetime roll as wife, mother, grandmother and as she said, “Assistant to Fred” her husband.
Sharon enjoyed the penny slots, traveling, working with pottery and walking, anywhere. What brought her the most joy was spending time with her family.
Sharon’s husband of 41 years, Fred died in 2020. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Jessie and Liz; 2 siblings, Julie and Ken, 3 grandchildren, Holly, Adam and Sophia and 4 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Maryanne and a grandson Jacob.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 8, beginning at 10 am at McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington where a funeral service will follow at 11am. Burial will be held privately.
