Wilmington- Terry Betts, age 81, passed away on May 9, 2021.
He was the son of the late Hazel (Flemming) and Herman Betts. Terry was born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Aston and Upland, PA. He attended Eddystone HS. Terry married Marie Nolan in June of 1960 and after serving his country in the US Army they moved to Wilmington, DE where they raised their three sons.
Terry worked for the Delaware County Times for 48 years, retiring in 2005. He enjoyed reading, watching sports and meeting up with old friends for a few beers.
He leaves behind his wife of 60 years Marie (Nolan); sons, Michael (Denise), Brian and Keith, his grandchildren that meant the world to him, Connor, Sydney, Ryan and Eliana; sister-in-law, Pudge Houpt (Bud) and 9 nieces and nephews and their children.Terry was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Bob Nolan (Carolyn).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 14 at 10:30 am, at Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Rd., Wilmington, DE 19810. Burial will follow at Edgewood Memorial Park. Services will be held in accordance with the current health directives, wearing masks, social distancing and capacity requirements (100)
