Dolores “Dee” Howard, age 89, of Hockessin, Delaware passed away on April 28, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 31, 1931 to George and Anna Woolsey, Dee was the oldest of three children. She was born and raised in the City of Wilmington.
Dee retired from the Family Court, where she had worked as a judicial secretary. Prior to working in Family Court she worked for many years as a legal secretary.
Dee was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Stanley; her sister, Helene DiFrancesco; and brother, Melvyn Woolsey.
Dee is survived by her son, Gary, and his wife, Toni Ann; three grandchildren, Susan Kwiatkowski (Dave), Kristin Tomczak (Sigmund), and Gary Jr. (Jenny); and eight great-grandchildren, Madison, Sydney and Carter Kwiatkowski, Sigmund Tomczak, Gianna, Jillian, Carmela and Nicholas Howard.
Dee was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. She enjoyed the beach at the Jersey Shore, but she loved family get-togethers more than anything!! She also enjoyed reading, gardening and knitting.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a viewing from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4th at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home (3710 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE 19808). Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5th at St. Barnabas Church (2800 Duncan Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808), followed by interment at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
