Deborah J. Taylor-Barcus, age 65, of Gordy Estates, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2021. Deborah, one of four children, was born in Wilmington, DE to the late Sherrill “Buddy” and Lucille Taylor.
Debbie was a fierce friend and a loyal sister. As a member of the VFW Auxiliary, she was dedicated to enriching the lives of veterans. She found a second home at Leo and Jimmy’s Deli in Wilmington, where she spent 20+ years making new friends and feeding the neighborhood with her great food.
Debbie was preceded in death by her husband Frank Barcus; her brothers, Donald and Edward; and her sister, Sharon. She is survived by her sons, Frank and Jeff; her nephews Brian, Tim and Eric; and her nieces Stephanie, Kimberly, Lindy and Jennifer, as well as extended family in Baltimore and West Virginia. All of these whom she loved so deeply, as we also keep her in our thoughts and forever in our hearts.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 10, at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home (3710 Kirkwood Hwy. Wilmington, DE 19808). The family will receive friends starting at 9:00 a.m. Interment at Gracelawn Memorial Park will follow the service. The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
