Wilmington- Bertha P. Nicholson, age 88, passed away with her loved ones by her side on March 31, 2021. She was born and raised in Wilmington, DE and was the daughter of the late George and Bertha Wharton. Bertha graduated from Wilmington HS in 1951.
After high school, she worked at the Dupont Company where she met the love of her life, Harry Nicholson. Bertha and Harry then started a family with 4 children.
She was dedicated to her faith attending the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall, Milltown Road. Bertha cherished the family trips to the Delaware Beaches. In her later years, Bertha enjoyed sitting outside and taking in all that Jehovah could provide.
Her husband of 59 years, Harry A., Jr., who died in 2011. Bertha is survived by her 4 children, Susan Laushey (Timothy), Harry, III, Mark (Maureen) and Tina Jackson (Joseph); 4 grandchildren, Robert Nicholson, Denny Hehman, Melissa Wynne and Joseph Jackson and 3 great grandchildren.
