Krisciunas, Verelyn “Lynn”

Verelyn “Lynn” Krisciunas died peacefully on March 20, 2021. Lynn was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to her mother, Helen Ellis and her father, Robert Edwards Ellis, Sr., who was serving in the United States Navy. Lynn graduated from Pensacola High School, Pensacola, Florida, and worked for a short time at the telephone company before she married Lt. Commander John P. Krisciunas, (Kris), and began the life of a military officer’s wife. Lynn and Kris were married for 61 years, before Kris passed away. The couple retired in Wilmington, Delaware in 1975.

Lynn was a gifted, talented seamstress. She enjoyed bowling, which she also coached for several years. She loved to entertain and enjoyed cooking and baking especially for the holidays. Lynn took special pride in her flower and vegetable gardens and caring for her home.

Lynn is preceded in death by her husband, LtCdr. John P. Krisciunas, USN, RET; her father, Robert Edwards Ellis, Sr.; mother, Helen Miller Ellis, of Pensacola, Florida; brother, Robert Edward Ellis and his wife Barbara J. Ellis of Smyrna, Georgia; and son in law, Frederick S. Tomlin of Bethlehem, PA. Survivors include her daughter, Susan K. Tomlin; grandchildren, Heather E. Tomlin, Brandon L. Tomlin of Bethlehem, PA, Rebecca T. Pomering and her husband, Chase M. Pomering, of Loveland, Colorado; brother, John W. Ellis and his wife Patricia Ellis of Pensacola, Florida.

A viewing will be held on April 7, 2021 at 11:30 AM at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE. Services will begin at 12:30 PM, followed by interment at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE at 2:00 PM.
