Froysland, Roger A. “Spike”

Wilmington-Roger A. “Spike” Froysland, age 98, passed away at his home on March 13, 2021. He was born in Audubon, MN and was the son of the late Oscar and Fannie Froysland. After graduating from high school, Roger proudly served his country in the US Marines during WWII. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal and served in the South Pacific.

Roger traveled all over the USA as a tank construction worker for 20 years at Graver Tank. He then worked for Paul Marrow Co., in Newport then in Tucson, AZ as a welder, retiring in 1987 after more than 15 years. Roger was a lifetime member of the VFW in MN. He will always be remember simply as a “Kind Gentle Man”.

Roger’s wife of 65 years, Mavis died in 2013. He is survived by 2 sons, Richard and Randy (Robin); 2 grandsons, Eric (Lori) and Aaron (Julia); 5 great-grandchildren, Allyson, Jayson, Madyson, Mia and Nicholas. He is also preceded in death by his 3 siblings, Fern, Joyce and Leroy.

Due to the Covid virus services at the Delaware Veteran Memorial Cemetery will be held with honors privately.
