Berge` Donald Lee "Moon"

Donald Lee “Moon” Berge’, 76, a longtime resident of Prices Corner in Wilmington, DE and for the past eight years in Lincoln, DE, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 21, 2021. Moon was born in Wilmington, DE, son of Julius Lincoln Berge’ and Charlottelee Warhus.

He loved doing anything needed for his family, unconditionally. Moon was a motorcycle enthusiast, he was one of three founding members of the F.S.M.C. Moon would not miss any NASCAR race.

Moon’s joys in life were his pets, he spoiled his boys like he spoiled his family. Moon also loved his Saturday morning outings to the auctions and his Thursday night darts. He retired from Sears Automotive and Christina Transportation.

Moon was predeceased by his parents, Julius and Charlottelee and his daughter Michelle Metcalfe-Jones. He is survived by his wife Janet Berge’; daughter Amy Berge’, grandson Elijah; daughter Linda and Walt Opalach, granddaughters Alaina and Carly; George and Rachel Metcalfe and granddaughter Lizzy; son in-law Rob Jones and Ashley, granddaughters Sondra, Alora, Maddie; Christopher and Lynda Metcalfe, granddaughter Hannah, grandson Chris, Jr., granddaughter Mackenzie and grandson Joey.

A viewing will be held on Saturday March 27 from 12-2 with a remembrance service at 2pm at the McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway Wilmington 19808. Burial will be private. Covid restrictions will be observed and masks are required. In lieu of flowers, donations in Moon’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way # 205 New Castle, DE 19720 orwww.cancer.org.
