Kelly, John (Jack) Linus

John (Jack) Linus Kelly, age 92 of Wilmington DE passed away on March 15th, 2021.

He was born in Atlantic City, NJ to John and Helene Boyd Kelly. He graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1946 and entered the army on his 18th birthday. He served in the Army in Japan as a paratrooper. He graduated with a BA from Rutgers University and was employed by E.I. DuPont for 32 years.

He was a parishioner at Holy Child Church since it’s inception. He enjoyed being a member of the DuPont Country Club and serving as President, Board member and Golf Chairman.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, he coached little league teams for his kids whether baseball, softball, basketball, and attended every grandchild team game possible. He was the founder and CEO of the Kelly family football pool for 37 years. His leadership will be missed.

He enjoyed a wonderful life with his wife Caryl Kleaver Kelly for 62 years. He is survived by his three children Karen Fuller (Steve), John Kelly (Terri) and Linda Doherty (David). He was blessed with 7 amazing grandchildren, Bryan, Maddie, Nicki, Lexi, Kelsey (Michael), Tyler and Deron plus a great grandson on the way.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naaman’s Road, Wilmington, DE 19810. Due to covid-19 restrictions, mask are required along with social distancing. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
