Mary Kelly was granted her angel wings on October 27, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends. Her bright and independent spirit will remain forever in our hearts.
Mary was born on February 20, 1964 in Wilmington, DE. She was an animal lover; her dog and cat companion were near and dear to her heart throughout her life. Always adventurous, Mary also loved to travel and always had a trip on the horizon; Mexico and Greece were favorite destinations. She loved the Delaware beaches, so much so that she moved to the area for a time, made a large group of loving, close friends, and many fun memories were created, especially in Dewey beach. Mary had a keen eye for decorating and loved spending time to create beautiful homes, doing the work to transform the spaces on her own.
Mary spent many years as an insurance fraud investigator and she took immense pride in her cases. This was the perfect job for Mary – sharp, independent, and persistent, there wasn’t a case that she couldn’t crack.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, James and Mary, and brother, Michael Kelly. She is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Latini (Ron), Patricia Demko, and Alice Kelly; brother, Francis Kelly; niece, Kristin Pedicone; nephews, Richard Montana, and Justin and Steve Demko; and ex-husband, Joe Mazur.
Services will be held on Wednesday, November 2nd at 11:00am at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home (3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803). Friends may call beginning at 10:00am. Interment will be at Cathedral Cemetery following the service.
