Valdes-Kisco, Dr. Carmencita

Dr. Carmencita M. Valdes-Kisco passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on September 17, 2022.

Nena was a trained Child Psychiatrist. She worked at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City. She loved her profession and helped many underprivileged families. Her humility in understanding the afflicted brought fortitude to those without a voice.

She was born in the Philippines to the late Dr. Galicano Macatangay and the late Virginia Macatangay.

Nena is survived by her husband of 25 years, Robert “Bob” Kisco; her children, Emilio “JJ” Valdes (Chris) and Dr. Carlos Chuck Valdes (Stewart Lucas); her siblings, Tess Macatangay, Dr. Vicky Gaus (Fran), Dr. Marivi Fonti (Gregg), Dr. Lyna Macatangay and Dr. Bobby Macatangay; and her grandchildren, Benjamin Valdes and Jonathan Valdes. Carmencita was preceded in death by her siblings, Dr. Angelo “Lito” Macatangay, Dr. Galicano “Chito” Macatangay and Dr. Marilou Macatangay.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike (Rt 202 South of Silverside Road) Wilmington, DE 19803. A second viewing will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naaman’s Road, Wilmington, DE 19810 where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, PA 19064. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Church of the Holy Child.
