Dolores Sparks, age 93, passed away peacefully at Somerford House in Newark on August 19, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Milton and Myrtle Mallalieu of Linwood, PA.
Dolores was pre-deceased by her parents, her sister Jeannette Mallalieu, her husband Clifford Sparks and her son-in law Robert Mueller. She is survived by seven children: Deborah Mueller of Montpelier, VA, Gale Johnston (Tom) of Newark, Gregg Sparks (MaryEllen) of Newark, Keith Sparks (Diane) of Middletown, Andrea Sparks of Newark, Linda Sparks of Newark and Darrell Sparks (Joe) of Newark. In Addition to her children, she is survived by eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Lois Watson of Pensacola, FL.
During her lifetime she worked at various jobs including church music director, organist, Division of Family Services, and assistant track coach. Dolores was also a proud foster parent to numerous infants. She was a 56-year member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where she served on the Board of Deacons and helped with many other ministries.
A funeral service will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1120 Darley Rd., Wilmington, DE 19810 on Thursday 08-25-2022 at 10:00 am. Friends may call from 9 to 10 am.
