Stephanie J. Evans, 69, died unexpectedly December 27, 2021. Born in Delaware County, PA to William, Sr. and Clara Evans, Stephanie earned a bachelor’s degree in History from The Citadel Military College of South Carolina. She was commissioned in the US Army for nearly ten years, stationed in Germany and stateside. After her military service, Stephanie spent her career in finance, most recently as a financial advisor at Wells Fargo Advisors.
Stephanie made it a focal point in her life to always give back to the community with which she worked and lived. Over the years she volunteered with many charities and foundations, including the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation and the SPCA rescue dog program, through which she adopted her beloved dog, Charleston. Stephanie was a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church and volunteer with their food pantry. She was also an active and valued volunteer at the Old Swedes Foundation, serving as Treasurer of the Board of Managers.
Stephanie is survived by her half-brother, William Evans, Jr.; her niece, Daisy Evans; her good friends, Dean and Diane Camp; many other close friends and colleagues; and her darling dog, Charleston.
A memorial service for Stephanie will be held at the Old Swedes Church (606 N Church Street, Wilmington, DE 19801) on Wednesday, January 5th at 11:00 a.m. Masks will be required regardless of vaccination status. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church Food Pantry or the Old Swedes Foundation are suggested.
