Alice S. Klippel, 94, peacefully passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021.
Alice was raised in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Henry and Alice Schumacher. A graduate of Wilmington High School and Beacom College, she was employed by several prominent attorneys in Wilmington. Alice retired in 1980.
Alice was married to her beloved husband, Robert F. Klippel, for over 50 years. Alice and Bob enjoyed travelling around the world and in the U.S., often in groups with their many friends. Alice enjoyed family gatherings, especially at holidays. She loved reading, playing cards and other games with her many friends. Alice was a member of Concord Presbyterian Church.
Robert passed away in 2006. Alice was predeceased by her brother, Daniel H. Schumacher. Alice is survived by nieces, Cissie Masulli (Fred), Carol Schumacher (Robert Gicquelais); nephew, Richard Schumacher (Shirley Coleman); and her most dearest and lifelong friend, Bobbie Longacre and her family.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Foulk Manor North and Bayada Hospice for their compassion and the excellent care Alice received and the care that was shown to her family.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Concord Presbyterian Church (1800 Fairfax Blvd., Wilmington, DE 19803). Burial services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Alice’s memory to Concord Presbyterian Church.
