Rudolph P. Foschi, affectionately called Rudy, age 101, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love on Sunday, November 21, 2021. He was born April 15, 1920 in Philadelphia, PA.
Rudy took over the family’s photography business at the young age of 16 when his father died unexpectedly and went on to make it a successful business, opening studios in Vineland, NJ, Cherry Hill, NJ and Wilmington, DE. He enjoyed being a portrait photographer and making people look beautiful. Rudy put his photography career on hold for three years while he served in the Army during World War II.
He was involved in different Rotary Clubs wherever he lived, finishing up at the Wilmington West Rotary Club. Rudy was also a longtime member of the Professional Photographers’ Association and served locally in the Philadelphia and Delaware Photographers Club.
He enjoyed playing golf and poker with his friends. He also enjoyed the thrill of playing the stock market and was an avid reader.
Rudy is survived by loving wife of 42 years, Linda; five children, Rudy Jr (Cheryl), Ted (Nancy), Maria, Alex (Debby) and Jerry (Cheri); 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Services will be private. Contributions may be made in Rudy’s memory to Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, 2700 Pennsylvania Ave, Wilmington DE 19806 or the Brandywine Hundred Library at 1300 Foulk Rd, Wilmington DE 19803.
