Wilmington – David R. Sierzenski (“Dave”) passed away quietly at Christiana Care Hospital on Sunday September 12, 2021, after a short battle with Covid-19. He was 61. Dave was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1960. He graduated from Cardinal O’Hara HS in Springfield, PA. During high school Dave became an excellent ice hockey player. He carried his love for sports throughout his life and was an avid Philly sports fan.
While Dave experienced some tough times during his life, he was a kind person who was always willing to help others. He spent many weekends working on rental properties and other projects with his Uncle Paul and he enjoyed his aunt’s home cooked meals at the end of the day. Dave very much liked his career in trucking, and he loved working on his vehicles in his spare time.
Dave was the only son of Raymond Sierzenski and Patricia Edger Shine who preceded him in death. He was much loved by his late uncle, Paul Sierzenski. He leaves behind family members, Kathleen Sierzenski, John and Patricia Sierzenski, Sandra Sierzenski and a sister Susan Fleming.
A visitation and service will be held on Friday Oct. 1st at McCrery Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19808. Visitation will begin at 6pm and the service will follow at 7pm. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the Governor of Delaware. A Mass of Christian Burial will be private.
