Ringlé, Elaine

Elaine Ferguson Ringlé, age 93, of Blue Bell PA, formerly from Wilmington DE passed away on May 12, 2021 surrounded by her close-knit family.Elaine was born in Whitestone, New York on March 20, 1928, the only child of Sarah (Ramsay) and Isaiah Ferguson.

Elaine attended the Art School of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. While studying textile design she met Lou, her loving husband of 67 years. Prior to marriage, Elaine was a free-lance designer of draperies, wallpapers and scarfs for many well know manufacturers.Elaine & Lou were married in 1951 and relocated to Wilmington.Before starting her family Elaine designed for the Kaumagraph Company in the area of color transfer designs. While raising her children, Elaine pursued part time employment and community volunteer positions. She worked as a substitute art teacher, window display artist, photography assistant and Art and Design Coordinator for the Wilmington Flower Market supplement.

Elaine held various volunteer positions at St. Albans church, including youth minister,Altar Guild, Arts & Design Committee and an assistant for the Mat’s and Pat’s program for the elderly.She was also a Winterthur guide and a Flower Market volunteer.

In addition to her love of the arts, Elaine enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a member of a gourmet dinner club, which produced many lifelong friends. She was active for many years with Wilmington Garden Gate Garden Club and served as its president. Her framed floral watercolors were eagerly bided on at the club’s annual auction.

She loved to entertain and would always go the extra mile to decorate for a party or event.She found the time to make everyone feel special.Her hand painted note cards and framed pictures are treasured by family and friends.

Elaine’s grace, sense of humor, playfulness and lovingness will be missed by all that knew her.

Elaine is survived by her son - Geoff Ringlé and wife Linda Anne; daughter - Linda E. Dedman and husband David; two grandsons - David Dedman and wife Allie; Matthew Dedman and wife Katlyn; four great grandsons - Samuel, Benjamin, William, and Mason.

The Funeral Service will be held Saturday 22 May at 1 PM at Christ Church Christiana Hundred 505 Buck Road Wilmington Delaware.
