Goldie L. (Decker) Catherman, age 91, passed away peacefully at her home on April 24, 2021.
She was born in Altoona, PA and was the daughter of the late Grace (Durham) and Walter Decker. She graduated from Altoona HS in 1947.
Goldie was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was very involved at her church, Trinity Presbyterian. Goldie volunteered for over 20 years at the Claymont Community Center, specifically at the Thrift Shop. She enjoyed arts and crafts with her family.
Goldie’s husband of 62 years, George D., died in 2015. Goldie is survived by her 2 children, David R. (Janice) and Grace L. Clayton (Len); 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Arlene Decker and Sue Jones and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Stephen M. and 5 siblings.
A visitation will begin on Friday, April 30, at 6 pm at McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3924 Concord Pike, followed by a Memorial Service at 7pm. Burial will be held in Altoona, PA. Services will be held in accordance with the current health directives, wearing masks, social distancing and capacity requirements.
