Wilmington-Elaine P. Vicary, age 93, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 10, 2021. She was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and was the daughter of the late Edna and Patrick. Elaine graduated from Hallahan HS in Philadelphia, PA.
She worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone with stories of connecting stars such as Frank Sinatra. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Delaware State Hospital. She loved cats and had many feral cats spayed and neutered. She also enjoyed doing cryptograms word puzzles and coloring- she was a good artist but would never acknowledge her talent.
She is preceded in death by her husband John H. Vicary, Jr. and her brother, Robert. She is survived by her sister, Mary Jane Perone; her 3 children, John (Jack) H. Vicary, III, Karen (Kandy) L. Vicary and Robert (Bob) G. Vicary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held privately.
