Wilmington-James V. “Jim” Maloney, age 58, passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 8, 2021.
He was born and raised in Wilmington and is the son of Joan and the late Vincent Maloney. Jim graduated from Mt. Pleasant HS in 1980. He then received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a MBA from the University of Delaware. Jim also earned a Master’s degree in Finance and Tax Law from Villanova University, and he was a registered CPA. He was an avid history enthusiast and an active community volunteer.
Along with his mother, Jim is survived by his sister Elizabeth Ann Maloney and many cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 17, at 11am at St. Helena RC Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington. Inurnment will be private. Services will be held in accordance with the current health directives, wearing masks, social distancing and capacity requirements.
