Sharon E. Magee, age 74, passed away at her home with her loved ones by her side on February 20, 2021.
Born in Long Island, NY, Sharon was the daughter of the late Helen (Powell) and Paul McClure. She graduated from Findlay High HS (Findlay, OH) in 1964 and then graduated with a double major in Elementary Education and Spanish Studies from University of Findlay in 1968.
She started her career as a teacher in Fort Wayne, IN. Sharon then moved to Delaware and worked at Play School Nursery School, The Wilma Boyd Career School, and the U.S. Census Bureau. In 1984 she discovered her love for skin care and became a certified Esthetician. Sharon interned at several salons before starting and running her own business, The Complete Skin Care until she retired in 2014.
Sharon enjoyed visiting to spas, but any beach was her favorite destination. She will always be remembered for her love of wearing hats, the many family cats she raised and loved, and the joy she found in gardening. She liked writing daily notes to her family and wrote in her journal every night. Recently the family discovered many short stories that Sharon had written in her spare time.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 24 years, John E. Magee, Sr.; 2 sisters, Linda Tucker (Pierce) and Betsy Dillon (Mark); 2 daughters, Jackie Lloyd-Terrail (Patrick) and Alisha Lloyd; 2 step-sons, John, Jr. and Christopher Magee; 2 grandsons, Jayden Lloyd-McKenna and Gabe Terrail and 3 step-grandchildren, John, III, Ethan and Rosiliegh.
Due to the pandemic, A Celebration of Life will be held privately. A public visitation will be held on Friday, March 5 from 12 noon to 1 pm at McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington. Services will be held in accordance with the current health directives, wearing masks, social distancing and capacity requirements. Burial will be held privately. A webcast link for the private service will be posted on the funeral home website. The webcast will be Friday, Mar. 5 at 11 am.
