Joyce Adamusik Pastor, age 81 of Garnet Valley, PA formerly of Wilmington, DE and Scotch Plains, NJ passed away on Thursday January 14th, 2021. Joyce was born on January 24, 1939 to the late Christine and Eugene Adamusik in Perth Amboy, NJ and she was a proud graduate of Perth Amboy High School class of 1956. After her husband’s passing, she worked at ICI Americas Inc in Wilmington in the real estate department for 10 years retiring in 2000.
Joyce, always the social butterfly, loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a mainstay at family events and took great pleasure sharing dinner and laughs with her loved ones. She also looked forward to her travels to her hometown to attend and plan her high school reunions with her longtime friends.
Joyce was always ready for a game with her friends and was never afraid to unleash her quick-wit and her cunning competitiveness on her opponents. Always up for a game of Scrabble, Joyce embraced living in the digital age and would frequently be strategizing her next move in multiple, simultaneous games of Lexulous.
Joyce loved warm weather and blue water often enjoying ample time in the pool, going to Mexico with her granddaughter, and planning her escape from cold winters to warm sunny Florida. While not traveling, her home oasis was her meticulously tended garden.
In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Ambrose (Andy) Pastor (1987), and son Frank Pastor (2015). She is survived by her devoted daughter Lori Pastor Koelsch and her husband Eric of Wilmington, DE, brother Eugene Adamusik and wife Annetta, Sister-in-law Elaine Ernest and husband Harvey, granddaughters Elizabeth Niedringhaus (Mark), Jacquelyn Rozman (Alex), and Rachael Carr (Mike) and her beloved great-grandchildren Cody, Zoey, Lexie, James, and Gregory, and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many many friends. The family would like to extend their thanks to Joyce’s friends in her community of Foxfield for their love and support. Let’s all say a toast to Joyce tonight.
