Catherine “Cathy” Yokimcus was born on December 16, 1941 in Pittsburgh, PA. An avid cat lover, great baker, she loved spending time in the sun. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and friend to so many. She grew up in Clairton, PA and moved to Delaware in 1965. She worked at Kirkwood Dodge and Price Dodge as well as the University and Whist Club for many years and loved the members there.
She lived life to the fullest! Cathy’s greatest ability was to make all feel welcomed. If you had the pleasure to meet Cathy you earned a friend for life. All will remember her as fun loving and happiest when she could dance.
Cathy passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 1, 2021. She was predeceased by her parents (Gust and Pearl Vavithes). She is survived by her son, Victor Paul (Deana); son, Scott Reay (Melanie); daughter, Kristine Pearl and her greatest joys, six grandchildren (Megan, Tyler, Corey, Christopher, Victor and Reayanne) and seven great-grandchildren.
Burial will be private. The family is planning two celebrations of Cathy’s life, the first in May of this year in Pittsburgh, PA and the other locally in June of this year.
As much as Cathy loved flowers, she loved cats even more. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Faithful Friends, 12-A Germay Drive, Wilm., DE 19804.
