Andrew “Andy” James Meanor, 73, husband of Lois Helmerson of Wilmington, passed away at his home early in the morning on Monday, December 28, 2020. His passing is due to complications caused by Lewy body dementia.
Andy was born in February of 1947, in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, just outside of Pittsburgh to Edna Boffey Meanor and Andrew Vance Meanor. Andy attended Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio, before relocating to Delaware. He proudly worked for the Delaware State Parks system before retiring in 2014, and enjoyed his remaining time at home with his loving wife. His life’s passions were being outdoors for traveling, kayaking, and biking, reading, and doting on his wife and four grandchildren.
Andy is survived by wife Lois Helmerson, sons Chris Meanor, Kris (Michelle) Kery, and Chris Helmerson, daughter Christine (Aaron) Wallace, and 4 grandchildren, all of Wilmington, DE. He is also survived by his older sister Joan (Sam) Holtgraver of Silver Spring, MD, and Vance (Laura) Meanor of Wilmington, NC.
