Dorothy “Dot” L Miller, 98, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Bluffton, SC and Long Island, New York, passed peacefully on September 23. Dot had worked as a secretary until her retirement and then worked part time as a secretary until her second retirement and then worked again as a secretary until her final retirement in 2002. Dot loved playing cards and doing handcrafts including painting, sewing, knitting, and crocheting and had enjoyed playing Billiards, Croquet, and Horseshoes. Dot spent her final days at Regal Heights Healthcare in Hockessin, DE. Many thanks to the staff who loved and cared for her.
Dot is survived by her children Carol Treanor, Barbara Sklow, Thomas Miller, Eileen Marvel (Doug), Charles Miller (Annette), Albert Miller (Lisa); her grandchildren: Steven, Mandi, Kelly, Nicole, Anthony, and Christian; her great grandchildren: Sean, Angelo and Vincent; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, on Saturday, October 3, from 1pm - 2pm, where the funeral service will follow at 2pm. Burial will be held at North Babylon Cemetery in New York. The services will be conducted in accordance with current health directives which require mandatory facemasks and social distancing practices.
