Joseph Michael Dawson, Sr., 67, died peacefully at home on June 15, 2020 after a long illness.
He is survived by his loving partner of 20 years, Kerry Ann Osborne, his children Michelle (Mal Reyes), Joseph III (Sheri), James (Stacy); eight siblings (Kathleen, Theresa, William, Edward, Michael, Margaret, Mary, and Paul); and two granddaughters, Annabella and Sophia.
He was predeceased by his parents Joseph A. and Kathleen (Weber), and brother John.
Joe fought hard throughout his illness while maintaining an incredible positive attitude and his amazing sense of humor. His strength and grace uplifted the people around him.
Joe held several roles throughout his life from paper boy to radio personality to standup comedian.He worked for several decades at Aloysius Butler and Clark (Wilmington, DE), as a creative director and was known as the master of ceremonies at any event he attended.Joe will be remembered for his unmatched wit, exquisite horticultural skills, and genuine love of people by all who knew him.
The immediate family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and technicians at Cleveland Clinic (Westin, FL) and PENN Medicine Abramson Cancer Center (Philadelphia, PA) for the care they provided.
Celebration of life arrangements will be postponed until further notice due to pandemic restrictions.
