Nora Lin (Wilcox) Sylvestre passed away peacefully on April 18th, 2020. She was born October 12, 1959 in Columbus, Ohio to James and Martha Wilcox. After graduating Fairport High School in Rochester, NY (1977), she attended Bucknell University and earned a degree in chemical engineering (1982). Despite her breast cancer diagnosis in 2014 and recurrence in 2019, Nora continued to encourage those around her with her characteristic, vivacious smile. She was a driven professional who continued working as a quality engineer. Nora enjoyed spending time outdoors hiking and bird watching and the nightly competition of Jeopardy.
Nora is survived by her loving daughter, Victoria (Tory) Sylvestre (Wallingford, CT); former husband Keith Sylvestre (Taftville, CT); parents James and Martha Wilcox (Spring Hill, FL); and brother and sister-in-law Jim and Gina Wilcox (Osprey, FL).
The family would especially like to thank the staff of Seasons Hospice for their excellent care and kindness. Further details to follow regarding a memorial service celebrating her life; all are welcome. In lieu of flowers, Nora requested donations be made to Unite for Her, a local charity supporting women with breast or ovarian cancer, 127 East Chestnut St. West Chester, PA 19380; uniteforher.org or to Seasons Hospice, seasonsfoundation.org/donate.
