Prior to her retirement, Jane worked for many years as an Accountant for a local Psychological medical Group in Wilmington.

During her nursing career in Frederick, she met her husband, Orin, who was stationed at Fort Detrick, MD. The couple actually met on a blind date where they went square dancing. Orin was often invited to breakfast by Jane’s mother, so he could be at the house when she returned from the hospital. The couple was soon married on March 14, 1953 and shared 61 years of wonderful marriage.

Jane never had an idle moment. She was a caring person, practical, strong-minded and made friends, easily. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Orin and mother to their three children and loved her grandchildren. As a Team, they made many sacrifices to make sure that their children had everything they needed, while maintaining their individual careers and the daily household needs.

After the passing of her husband, Jane made regular visits to the cemetery to commemorate her husband’s memory. She also entertained herself by taking weekly excursions to Delaware Park Casino where she loved the staff and enjoyed playing the slot machines with all her friends.
