On Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019, Hugh Kenneth Breckenridge, 90, wounded veteran of the Korean War, passed away at the Delaware Hospice Center. Hugh, known to all as Ken, was born on March 22, 1929 in Forty Fort, PA. to John R. Breckenridge and Florence Learn. He was a graduate of MMI Preparatory School in Freeland, P.A. After serving in the U.S. Army he moved to Delaware and had a long career as a draftsman. He enjoyed making model airplanes and doing woodworking. Ken is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert and Alan Breckenridge, wife Josephine Joka, and son Chris Breckenridge. He is survived by his children, Ronald Breckenridge (Susan), Sherryl Breckenridge, and Lisa Blanchette (Arthur); stepdaughter Monica Harper, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Dec. 30 at 2:00 p.m. at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, located at 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE., 19803. Service will be led by Rev. Art Blanchette. Interment will be at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery in Bear, DE, and will be private.
