William Frederick Masters, age 91 of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on December 18, 2019.
Bill was born on December 16, 1928 in Honesdale, PA where he met and married his wife and started their family. He moved his family to Absecon, NJ where they spent 20 years and then moved to their home in Green Acres where he lived the rest of his life.
Bill worked for Abbotts Dairy and after retiring went to work part time for Harvey Mack Trucking Company.
Bill’s favorite pastime was Archery. He was always found at Penn Del Archers where he was an active member for many years. He won Delaware State Pro Championship a couple years in a row. He also loved to spend time at the family farm with his loved ones. He loved to spend time on his tractor mowing the grass in the sunshine, tinkering in the garage and late afternoon happy hour watching the sunset. He will be remembered as a man of few words, but always a kind heart who would make you chuckle with his dry sense of humor.
Bill was predeceased by his parents Walter and Hannah Masters, his brother Donald, his beloved wife of 58 years Nora, his son Michael, daughter Leanne and grandson Christopher. He is survived by his three children Terry (Cindy) Masters, Nancy (Richard) Spisak of Myrtle Beach, SC and Donald Masters of Sedona, AZ. He is also survived by his grandchildren Joshua, Matthew, Jeremiah, Melissa, Calvin, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to stop in Saturday, December 21st between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm at the family home at 1400 Drake Road, Green Acres, Wilmington, DE. Services and burial will be private.
