Durchlaub Aurelia “Ginger”

Glen Mills, PA - Ginger, 90, formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 3rd following a brief illness. Born in New York City to the late Rudolf and Adele Seider, Ginger graduated from Morris High School in the Bronx, and met future husband Erwin while hanging out with neighborhood friends at the local YMCA. Married in 1952, Ginger and Erwin first moved to Baltimore MD before settling in Bel Air MD to raise their family.

In 1969, Ginger and family moved to Wilmington DE, where they made many life-long friends. The Woodbine crew were known for their summertime picnics, bridge games, and gourmet dinners. Ginger was a fantastic cook and always made sure to make her kids’ favorite meal on their birthdays. Avid travelers, Ginger and Erwin were able to visit six continents, both on their own, and as part of the Primetimers.

Ginger is survived by Erwin, her loving husband of 67 years, and their three children: Paul (Richmond VA), Ellen and Wade Souza (Mililani, HI) and Amy and Bruce DiNardo (Wilmington). She was also the best Giggy to Kristen and Andrew DiNardo. Ginger will be dearly missed by her sister Adele Morea, in-laws Elsie DeWall and Lilly Lubsen, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of Ginger’s life will be held on Tuesday December 10th at McCrery & Harra funeral home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington DE 19803. Family and Friends are invited to visit from 11 am until noon, with a brief service to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either the American Lung Association, or the charity of your choice.
