Steven R. Norstrom, 61, went home to be with the Lord on July 13, 2019. Steve was born in Cedar City, Utah and spent his later childhood years in Wilmington, DE, where he graduated from Concord High School. He attended Widener University in Chester, PA and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Steve worked at various companies in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland and Georgia before moving back to the Wilmington area in 2015.
Steves interests included singing, watching sports and playing golf. He had a beautiful tenor voice and sang with a choir throughout Europe before starting college. He continued to sing in his church choirs and most recently sang with Hearts and Harmony in elderly communities in Wilmington. Steve was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching college and professional football and baseball. At a young age, Steve developed a passion for golf and loved to play whenever he could. He became a Certified Golf Teaching Professional and worked at several golf courses in Georgia and Delaware. He enjoyed organizing golf tournaments for his college alumni association and other groups he was affiliated with.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Norstrom. He is survived by his father Chet Norstrom of Wilmington, DE and his sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Dave Shebat of Oak Hill, VA, along with his nephews and niece, Chris, Michael, John and Melissa.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 27 at 11 am at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1530 Foulk Road, Wilmington, DE 19803.
