Andrew Coughlan, aged 36, passed away peacefully in his home after a brief illness surrounded by his loving immediate family on April 22.
He was born in Coatesville, Pennsylvania and resided in Wilmington, Delaware. He was an alumni of Howard High School of Technology - Wilmington, Delaware where he majored in Computer Networking Support and graduated in June 2002. He attended ITT Tech in King of Prussia from which he graduated in 2007 with an Associate Degree in Computer Network Systems.
He was a Network Engineer for several companies. He also had his own company that specialized in networking video security. In addition, he was a part time professional fireworks technician.
He had multiple passions that included computers, home brewing and rocketry. He was an avid skier and enjoyed camping, and hiking. He was an athlete in Special Olympics and recently was on the Athlete Membership Program. He enjoyed skiing and would go to Vermont almost every weekend. He had recently taken up mountain biking.
Andrew was a special person who was kind, considerate, and willing to help anyone. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his father, David Coughlan; his mother, Lauren (Coughlan) Gunton; his brother, Patrick Coughlan; and several Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. Also by his long term girlfriend, Kristen.
Services for Andrew will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 26, at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home (3924 Concord Pike). Friends and family may call beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will be private.
