Charles Dave Rex, age 78, passed away peacefully on June 16th, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Dave was born in Wilmington, attended Kennett High School, Lincoln Welding School in Cleveland, OH, and served in the Delaware Air National Guard. He worked as a welder at DuPont Experimental Station for over thirty years where he developed lifelong friendships with many of his coworkers. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working on his 1950 Ford Club Coupe, going to car shows, fishing, and morning coffee at Panera with his buddies. Dave was a kind, gentle soul and was loved by all who knew him.
Dave was predeceased by his parents, Elsie Hill Rex and Charles J. Rex. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Irene Rex, son David (Michelle), daughter Kim (Tony), son James (Lisa), son Shawn McGee, daughter Kelly McGee, grandchildren David, Jessie, Steven, Robert, Samantha, and Justin, and four great grandchildren.
Friends may call at St. Michaels Orthodox Church, West Huntington Drive and Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21st. A funeral service will follow immediately after visitation.
