Branden was born in Newport News, Virginia in June of 1989 and grew up in the suburbs of Wilmington, Delaware. He graduated from Wilmington Christian School in 2007 and attended the University of Delaware for a year. Branden loved all things pop culture: He could talk for hours about the latest books, movies, TV shows, and music. From an early age he showed a certain proclivity for video games that stayed with him into adulthood, and it was well known that he was likely to wipe the floor with anyone who challenged him. Branden’s family, friends, and coworkers will fondly remember his quirky, easygoing personality and his way of connecting with people in a room.
Branden is survived by his parents Jan and David (Sveta) Wood, siblings Kellie (William) Ransom and Melissa Wood, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and two uncles.
Visitation with the family will begin at 9 am on Saturday, May 4 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2313 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE, with a memorial service at 10 am.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in Branden’s name to the Emmanuel Dining Room (121 N Jackson St, Wilmington, DE 19801) or the Sunday Breakfast Mission (110 N Poplar St, Wilmington, DE 19801.)
